Amazing Brazilian restaurant in Cambridge! Really loved everything we had that day! Amazing and quick service even if they were full! Really great selection of authentic dishes from Brazil and the drinks are spectacular!

I visited this restaurant based on a list recommended by the hotel I was staying in. The staff was courteous and attentive at this casual, family establishment. The tables around me were really enjoying their food, so I was very excited. I ordered a smoothie, which was made with fresh fruit- not a bunch of filler ingredients. My entree was moqueca with shrimp and fish with a side of plantain that came with a creamy hot sauce. OMG the flavor! I ate as much as I could and boxed the rest to take back to my room. This place is unassuming, with a focus on fresh, delicious food and accommodating service. I wish I lived in Boston so I could go back again and again.

The steam gets there before the menu does. It carries coconut milk, tomatoes, peppers, something green and herbal that cuts through the richness before you even see the pot. By the time the moqueca arrives, bubbling inside a small black clay vessel, the argument has already been made. Whatever else this modest Cambridge restaurant is doing, this is the reason it exists. Maqueca does not announce itself with design. Tucked into a side street, it reads less like a destination than an accident. A place you would walk past if you were not looking for it. There is no architectural seduction here, no curated lighting strategy, no open kitchen theatrics meant to reassure you that authenticity is being performed on your behalf. The room is compact. First time having Brazilian food. The bobo is the best! Coconut without being heavy. Feijoada is great. Definitely on the heavier side. Seafood dishes here doesn’t go wrong!

Brazilian bistro style restaurant. Food was all excellent, the muqueca’s were excellent. Service was good, nice cocktail selection and a couple of Brazilian beers.
