Mount Joy Family Restaurant

My husband and I tried this establishment for the first time last night. We were greeted right away and told to sit where we liked. Our waitress came by our table a couple minutes later to take our drink order. My husband had a bacon cheeseburger and fries, and I ordered a large dinner salad and a chicken breast sandwich. I also ordered a side of cinnamon applesauce and a side of coleslaw. Our food came out pretty quickly. My salad was fresh and my grilled chicken was very tasty. My husband said his bacon cheeseburger was done perfectly. The coleslaw was just a tad bit on the sweet side, but still flavorful. I really enjoyed the applesauce; it wasn't overly sweet and there was just the right amount of cinnamon on it. The restaurant was clean and the staff were super friendly. The best part

I used to go here all the time as a kid, but I’ve avoided it since a few years ago when they had 30+ food violations. A family member told me they went one day and it seemed to be doing better so I decided to go today. I feel dirty after eating their food. I feel disgusted and I want to throw up. My coke tasted like some type of chemical mixed with an artificial substance. My food was cold when it arrived and I ordered a hot meal. It looked and tasted like it was just sitting there for the 20 minutes it took to get my food while I was the only person in the diner. Some of my food was inedible and overall just looked disgusting. I don’t understand what happened to this place.

We took our grandkids out for breakfast here. The food was good and came out correct and quickly. Our waitress did a great job and was very pleasant. The prices were reasonable and comparable with other diners.

Wonderful lunch in a welcoming atmosphere. Service was prompt. Went in on a Saturday for lunch and there was no wait and was seated immediately. As for the food it’s good home cooking and delicious with no complaints

We arrived on a busy Sunday morning for breakfast and staff was friendly and efficient in waiting on people to check out and with people waiting to be seated. Wonderful family atmosphere and great homemade foods!
