We spent three nights here while in the area for a reunion with friends. This is an excellent location if you are in the Lancaster/Hershey area. It is convenient to everything.||||This is an old Victorian house with over-the-top decorations. There are permanent Christmas trees, and lots of vintage dolls and silk flower swags. As it was approaching Halloween, plenty of themed decorations were evident. We had reserved the Amanda room, but as we were the only guests, Doris, the owner, upgraded us to the Victoria room, which was spacious and comfortable. The bathroom was across the hall (no problem for us), and robes were provided. The place is absolutely spotless. Also, I've been in lots of B&Bs with miniscule baths; this was nice and roomy, and with a small lamp so that there was no p

I rented out the house for my bridesmaids and myself for my wedding weekend. The Victorian Rose was beautiful, and Doris made such delicious food! She accommodated all of my guests needs (vegetarian, allergies, etc) and made sure everything went well for us. I selected The Victorian Rose because it was the most reasonably priced place in town, but I recommend it because it is the nicest place in town.

As the other review noted, there are alot of holiday decorations but they seem to go well with the Victorian decor. Our room (the Elizabeth) was very clean and ornately decorated. There was a tree dedicated to the red hat society in it that was very pretty. The bed was a little hard but we were otherwise comfortable. Our room had a bathroom in it. The other rooms are larger than the Elizabeth but the bathrooms for them are across the hall (they each have a bathroom but you have to go across the hall to get to them.) The owner was very friendly and prepared a bountiful breakfast for us. We had strawberry shortcake, a large plate of cut fruit, delicious french toast with real Vermont maple syrup and crispy bacon. She even offered seconds but we declined. The owner has obviously pains

My wife and I stayed here on our anniversary and it was terrible. Doris was rude to us from the first moment we introduced ourselves, and continued to be rude and obnoxious the entire evening and next morning. She scolded me twice for using the kitchen door to get to my car, even though the parking lot is next to the kitchen door. There was some guy doing dishes in the kitchen while I was leaving, and she stood there yelling at him and making fun of him--very awkward for a guest to see this. She did not tell us anything about the house and made it pretty clear that we were not allowed to touch anything, especially the kitchen. She talked at length about how she hated having a B&B, how it ruined her life, and how much she would like to get rid of it but she can't. The bathroom was no

My wife and I stayed here twice-- once when we first met in 2015 and again just to get away and see a Styx concert at the Covenion Center (and subsequently get engaged!). The house is absolutely gorgeous. Everything is Christmas-y, year round! Doris (the owner) belongs to the Red Hat Society, so there is also a lot of red. She is very pleasant, albiet, a bit set in her ways and... crockety, I suppose? But in the best way possible. And she has the most wonderful stories, especially about her train trips with her husband Burt (who is fairly quiet).||||The rooms are perhaps a bit small, but very well kept and ornately decorated in a somewhat antiquated style. The beds were kind of hard for me to sleep on, but not my wife, so be forewarned that you may need to bring your own pillows at the ver
