Mookie's was so good, we went twice within a week. The first time, we had Sarah. Second time was Joe. Both servers were excellent. Had a wonderful experience. The first time, I had the Short Rib Grilled Cheese : Hubby had the Burnt Ends. Second time, I had the Burnt Ends and he had the Pulled Pork. Every meal was juicy, tender barbecued meat with the perfection of someone who knew how to eat. The flavor is good with or without the succulent sauces. Also, some other restaurants could take notes about the Carolinas sauces, because Mookie's understood the assignment. *licks fingers in Georgia* 🤣 Don't talk to me about pricing because if you're trying to eat good as a Dollar Menu-aire, don't come here. BBQ like this don't have coupons and gimmicks. Pros: Above All the Food (them Greens!😍) O
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 – Comfort Food, Soul, and Smoke in One Plate If you’re anywhere near Great Falls, do yourself a favor and pull up to Mookie’s BBQ. This place is straight-up peace on a plate. I had the turkey platter with cornbread, collard greens, and mac & cheese—and wow. The turkey was tender and flavorful, the cornbread hit that warm, homemade note, and the collards were cooked right. The mac & cheese? Baked beautifully with perfect texture. I’d love it just a touch sharper, but honestly, it’s still elite-tier comfort food. Now let’s talk soup. The vegetable soup with beef brisket was straight fire 🤤—rich, hearty, and full of soul. And on special days, if you’re lucky, they’ve got potato soup with bacon bits… absolutely dangerous. Creamy, smoky, comforting. Not always available, so ch
Stopped by Mookie's with a friend and had a pretty mixed experience. The service was a definite highlight, but the food and atmosphere didn't quite match up. The service was excellent, and the staff was friendly and attentive, which made for a pleasant experience. I'd give them a solid 4 stars. The restaurant itself has a decent, casual vibe, but the atmosphere felt a bit average, earning it a 3-star rating from me. For the food, I ordered the buffalo wings. They were grilled and had a good, smoky flavor, but they were a little on the dry side. I found that the side sauces were what really made them enjoyable. I also tried the potato salad, which was just okay—nothing particularly memorable. My friend wasn't very impressed with their order, either, noting that the pulled chicken sandwich
We ordered the Pitmaster Sampler, which includes pulled pork, pulled chicken, burnt ends, ribs, sausage, and brisket. All the meats were in desperate need of salt, as they were bland, and also barely room temperature. The sauces were all pretty tasty, especially the mustard sauce, but great BBQ shouldn't need to be smothered in sauce to be flavorful. The Mac and cheese and greens were fine, but again needed seasoning. The best bite of food was the BBQ Beans, which had a deep and complex flavor. Our server was great, answered questions, and checked on us regularly. Our food came out very quickly, but given how it wasn't hot, it concerns me that the food was sitting around for a while.
I had a very good experience at this restaurant. The service was good and the people were all welcoming and friendly. I picked it because it was pet friendly and had a separate patio. Had a very good meal with my dog and no issues. Food was very good and reasonably priced. Will definitely return.
