Montecristo Taqueria y Pupuseria

So a friend and I came here for lunch. I ordered two shrimp tacos and a chicken tamale. The tamale was big and really delicious, though the tacos for me were the real star. Came with cilantro, avocado slices, and pickled onions and I just thought it was a real treat. It’s a bit of a grungy hole in the wall and I will say when I asked for water and got bottled water my expectations were pretty low, but the food was uniformly delicious (though it took quite some time to come out). I had a very disappointing experience here. I clearly explained when ordering that I have a pork allergy and that I wanted a chicken gordita. I also waited about 30 minutes for my order. When I opened the bag, I realized it was beef, which I do not eat and did not order. I politely explained that it was incorrect. The woman at the register became visibly upset—huffing, puffing, and throwing things near the counter. There was no customer service or professionalism. She then took the gordita back and removed the beef and put chicken in it, which is not acceptable, especially when an allergy has been stated. That is a food safety and cross-contamination issue. I was very disappointed receiving this order. First off it was backwards I ordered 8 revuelta and 1 frijol queso. It came the other way around. Which would have been fine but these were so poorly made. There is no cheese at all just all refried bean inside. No cheese pull what so ever. And they are all cracked and broken apart. That tells me the masa is either left out too long or these were previously made and reheated. Highly upset as I was looking forward to this meal. Makes not want to order from here again.

He was horrible. He came so late. I understand today the weather is crazy and they were so busy but for real it is crazy cause like we wait for almost 3 hours.

Never had a problem with this place until this week when I ordered the carne asada tacos which got me sick with food poisoning. Would come back again, but not to order the tacos. I haven't had a problem with other items on the menu.
