MISSION BBQ

Check out my vid, which includes my receipt. I got the 3 meat platter with the XL combo, which is two sides and a drink. I also got an extra side. All together: 2 Ribs, brisket, pulled pork, Mac-N-Cheese, baked beans, fries, and a cornbread. $37. The food was good, delicious even. The issue is the serving size. For that price it should be a feast. They skimp on the meat, which kind of misses the point. I was more impressed with the sides. Their sides are legit amazing. But I don't think I'll be back. Service and staff was amazing though.

The cornbread, mac n cheese and French fries were awesome, my son's kids brisket meal was dry, my brisket meal was fatty and severly greasy, cole slaw and beans were meh. To be new and on one of its busiest days I expected better. Not a fan of their BBQ sauce either. Portion vs price with outcome of meal not impressed. Maybe I will give another try at some point but no time soon. Very sad 😔 I hoped for better.

ABOUT THE PORTIONS (All caps so you read it): There are reviews about the portions being small which had me worried. I got the brisket entree, side of fries and a small baked beans side. My total was around $22. All of the portions were plenty of food so I'm not sure what happened to those other reviewers. Not only the portions, but consider you're also getting BBQ that doesn't taste generic. The beans taste smoked. The brisket is thick and perfectly flavored. Plenty of fries. Cornbread is a little dry but still good. The sauces are really good. All of them have unique flavors. Lastly the service. This is one of the few food places that shows you your order before you leave and makes sure you are good with sauces before you leave. I haven't ordered from the chilis or Sonny's down the roa

A big part of this rating is the customer service I received here today, my first visit to the new Mission BBQ in Mt. Dora. Big shout-out to Peaches (yep, really her name), Amaya, and GM Darrell, and the lovely ladies keeping the dining area spotless. What a delightful crew! I was greeted the second I walked in and noticed so was everyone else. Super friendly staff here to take your order and you can order ahead using their app. I like that you can order a smaller number of ribs instead of the standard 5-count. That works for me, a smaller female, because I also wanted to order sides. Respect the cheese pull on that Mac & Cheese - delicious! I also enjoyed the green beans. Longtime Mission BBQ customer, usually go to the Clermont location, finally able to try this new location near my work. Great people inside, fast service!! (Shout out to the city of MD for your crazy rules that resulted in the opening delay) Highly recommend.....Had my usual order of Brisket and the side of cheesey potatoes....(Smoked cheeseburger is a must try)
