Mike's Fish Market

The most reasonable price for fresh live lobsters we've found from north to south in Maine. It's not a restaurant but they will boil the lobsters for you and you can eat at their outdoor picnic tables. There's also a very clean bathroom inside for customers. Remember to bring a nutcracker if you have one. They didn't crack the lobsters enough, so we had a hard time working our way through. Yummy though.

The BOMB for all things lobster or clam. Fresh lobster meat at $50/lb. We made risotto with it--unbelievably good. Also got clam chowder to go--THE BEST CHOWDER EVER. They sell "kits" to make it at home. The market is as good as the restaurant. Great food and super nice service. No need to go anywhere else in the area--MIKE'S HAS IT ALL.

Maybe I caught them on a bad day. I wanted fresh crabmeat. I bought an 8oz container for $15 ($30/lb). It was snow crab, basically processed crab, no chunks of crab like when I but it at a local fish monger in Cambridge MA, Smelled OK but did not eat, probably a few days old. Cooked lobster meat was $50/lb. Never seen it this expensive anywhere, especially with prices so low.

Cooked lobsters while you wait at a reasonable price. Also enjoyed a bowl of clam chowder and a bottle of wine. Great place for a nice take away dinner.

Stopped for lobster on our way out of town. Prices were fair and the lobster were fresh and delicious. The guys at the store were also super helpful.
