Mike's Bar-B-Q & Sub Shop

Mike's is a great takeout restaurant. Famous for bar-b-q but they have much more. They have been open since 1978 and currently have a 100 sanitary rating. That said, the food is deee-licious. Their bar-b-q sauce is unlike any I've had and better!! Love their logo and motto: Pigging out since 1978. I'll oink to that!!! Seriously good food.

Great service! Awesome location but other than the BBQ, im not impressed w the other sandwiches..though I will co tinker to eat there bc they're one of the ONLY non franchise resin mnt city.

Got subs to go for a change, they packaged the fixings in baggies and the onions and oil in a plastic container so as not to make the bread mushy, worked perfectly and they were amazing as always! 8-18-25: Back again, this time to devour some amazing food in the picnic area next to the restaurant, still the best subs in the South!

Most excellent thin sliced, not chopped or pulled BBQ. Highly recommended. Had to go back and get another. Very freshly sliced and prepared to order. Sauce five stars. Cole slaw fresh and perfectly fined chopped with very little mayo. They practice one of the secrets of outstanding bbq: Always keep the sauce heated and somther.

We stopped here after biking the Virginia Creeper trail. Tasty BBQ. White Coleslaw. Generous portions. Very friendly service. No dining in -- just sit at one of the outdoor picnic tables and enjoy the views.
