Mido Omakase - West Village

I brought my boyfriend to Mido for his birthday dinner. Truthfully, I was a bit surprised at how quiet it was given it's rating, but that allowed for us to have incredibly attentive service. I thought showing the photos of the type of fish was very interesting and a nice touch. We splurged on the $150 omakase experience and overall it was "good". I wouldn't put it at the top of my omakase experiences as there wasn't anything particularly notable to differentiate from other experiences at a lower price point. That said, id still recommend giving this place a try if you're considering it. Their brunch seems like a good deal. However, I don't think there is $50 of incremental value between the classic and seasonal omakase menu.

The entire omakase experience was intimate, elevated, and absolutely delicious. I loved that they showed us a picture of each fish before we ate it - such a fun and clever touch that made the experience feel more interactive and educational. The service was amazing from start to finish, and the fish was unbelievably fresh. Honestly, I couldn’t even pick a favorite because every single piece was that good. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. I will definitely be back!

If we could give them 6 stars (or 10 stars) we would! Hands down one of the best omakases ever!!! Do not miss out on this gem. The fish selection is extremely fresh, I even enjoyed types I don’t usually try (white fish) and I LOVED the entire seasonal omakase!!! Definitely coming back ASAP. The staff is so kind and professional — Leo, Eason, and Jamie are amazing!!!! 🤩

Just came back from Mido Omakase and it was exceptional. We had the Mido Seasonal Set, and every bite was fresh, balanced, and beautifully prepared. Chef Leo truly made the experience special; he explained each fish and its origins, which made the meal both personal and educational. The staff were equally wonderful. Amazing food, knowledgeable chef, and genuinely kind service. Highly recommend Mido Omakase.

Amazing fresh fish, they ask about wasabi levels, and they are great about explaining what fish you are eating. The uni/ikura bowl is phenomenal and generous portions, and the rice is incredible as well. we always feel like we’re getting a private meal. Go for your anniversary or a celebration and you might get a delightful matcha crepe cake as well!
