Michael's Restaurant

I had a great experience at Michael’s Restaurant in Upper Marlboro. The atmosphere was warm, inviting, and perfect for either a relaxed meal or a nice evening out. The food was flavorful, well-prepared, and beautifully presented, and you can tell they really care about quality. What stood out most was the service — everyone was attentive, friendly, and made sure we felt welcomed from start to finish. It’s definitely a hidden gem in the area, and I’ll absolutely be returning.

The atmosphere/ambiance is outstanding. Sam was great as well as our server Marilyn, who by the way was on her first night. Parking in the area now is limited. There appears to be a plan to mitigate this issue per Chef Vernon. My party ordered lobster spinach dip. It was luke warm not hot. Salmon was not fully cooked. Lamb chops were warm. Garlic mashed potatoes were hot and flavorful. Broccolini was cold. Steak was warm, lobster Mac and cheese was delicious and hot. I WOULD recommend the lobster mac. Now the warm food was sent back and returned. The salmon when returned was cooked but dry and not really blackened. The steak and lambchops when returned, flavor was different and dried. My understanding is when food leaves the kitchen it is not to be returned which can cause a cross contamin

We were really excited to try this restaurant after seeing it online. The space is absolutely stunning. The decor, lighting, music, and overall vibe are beautiful. On concept alone, this place should be a hit. Unfortunately, the execution does not match the aesthetic or the price point. The reservation process was confusing. We were told we needed approval to book, but when we arrived they were taking walk-ins. Once seated, the menus did not reflect what was actually available. Our server was kind and doing his best, but had to repeatedly check with the kitchen to confirm what was in stock. It felt like the team was not set up with clear information or training. Was there for their soft opening and I should say everything was luxe and extravagant. Foods are delish, and the atmosphere was jaw dropping! We ordered catfish and grits, omelet, burger and chicken and waffles, I can’t describe how the burger and the omelet was as they are for the person we are with and I didn’t have the chance to grab from their plate, but they were like it’s delicious! The catfish and grits was my spouse order and I got to taste it as I reached onto that plate! My review for that is simply since I got here in the US, I never had a good one but their catfish is the first one that I found the best of all I ever had in this MD.
