Michaelangelo's Pizza & Subs

This was the worst pizza we have ever had anywhere. Doughy, thin, greasy, tough to chew. We should have gone down the street for the best pizza in Emerald Isle, but since we were at the grocery, and this was close, we decided to try it. I have to put it in the oven to finish baking it, and it was still crap. The staff was sort of friendly, but tried to hard to make jokes that weren't really funny. For the price we could have had better pizza buying frozen at the grocery. Never again.

I'm kind of surprised the rating on this place is so low. I can't say anything bad about a restaurant that has NY style pizza by the slice. I've been coming here for more than 20 years and the pizza's always consistently good. Their steak and cheese is good as well. It's not like a typical cheesy, creamy cheese steak with mushrooms and peppers, etc., it's has more fresh vegetables on it and it's tangy with the banana peppers and oil and vinegar, but it's good for the type it is. I will say I got an Italian recently and it didn't taste the same as it used to. I think it was missing one of the meats and it was also missing the cheese.

We have been coming here for years, it is our favorite pizza place on the island. The pizza is good, they genuinely care about their customers, and the cake is great too!

This is a huge letdown to have to do this because I absolutely love michaelangelo’s. I’ll drive from New Bern to the Atlantic beach location in a heartbeat to snag one of their pizzas or steak and cheese subs because nothing can compare! The location here in Emerald Isle was a slight disappointment. I’d been talking them up all week to my family from out of town and then this was the end result. The steak and cheese was perfect and the pizza was good but not mind blowing like Atlantic beach or Swansboro. These people were super nice but I have to recommend going to a different location. But even after today, I’ll still swear by the Michaelangelo’s name because my normal locations are perfect!

I've been past this location dozens and dozens of times for the past 15 years or so. And I am now wishing I would've ate here sooner. Everything was Amazing from the staff that talks to you like you are family, the cleanliness or everything, and the food was way better than I could've ever imagined. Thank You to all those that work at Michaelangelo's, Please keep up the Amazing food, and experience.
