Merengue Restaurant & Catering

This was a cute little café type of place with a very pleasant, quaint patio. The service was exceptional and whatever I had for lunch was amazing. I especially loved the onions that Tasted like they were pickled in some type of vinegar or lemon lime. They were a wonderful accent to the rest of the food. Their coffee was also really good. I wish I could remember the name of our waitress because she was very sweet and the manager or owner also stopped by our table to ask how we were doing. I would definitely recommend to friends or relatives. And we will definitely be back.

Very clean medium to small dining area. Nicely decorated, great service and the food was great. Recommend the Churrasco steak with Mofongo. Did not have dessert but their fruit shakes are a great substitute.

I went with my family to have lunch . The place is nicely decorated but the music (merengue or salsa) is really, really loud !! The food was ok , some dishes better than others, but it took a long time to arrive (30-40’). A bit pricey for what you get . The smoothies were very good. I don’t like to be charged a “service fee” and also a 20 % mandatory tip! I think it’s too much !!!

My wife and I recently visited Merengue for the 1st time. When we walked in we liked the look and the design of the place. We were greeted immediately and instantly seated. We ordered Chuleta Can Can ( Pork Chop Chicharon ) for 2 with white rice, salad and tostones. Our waitress Vanessa who by the way was awesome and very attentive gave us a free sample of their arroz con gandules. When I tell you that arroz con gandules was amazing. When she brought our food out our 1st impression was the presentation of the food was very nicely plated. The pork chop can Can was very crispy and flavorful. Overall my wife and I were very happy with our overall experience at Merengue. We give you 2 thumbs up 👍🏼👍🏼

Excellent Dominican food. The service was over the top. Great Morongo with Triongo option. The empanadas were cooked just right.
