Mello's Subs

If you ask at Utican where you can great a good sub, most people will point you to "Mellos". Truth is, most of those that don't just haven't been there in a decade or two (it's a family owned business). They have a limited menu: turkey, ham, roast beef, tuna with a small selection of toppings and only take cash. But when I say they have NO competition, its a FACT. The bread is FRESH daily (meaning they close early when they run out suggest getting in before 2) and are open only 11-4pm Mon-Fri. They have classic drinks (water, tea and a few sodas) and like 3 options of potato chips (classic & bbq) for an easy combo. This place is legit. One of the best subs I have ever had. Danny Wegmans ain’t got 💩 on Mello’s.

the ideal sandwich shop. grew up in Utica but live a couple time zones away in a place where they wouldn't know a good sandwich if it hit em in the face. to anyone living nearby that takes this place for granted - stop. I'd do just about anything to have one of these in my city. awesome staff and amazing food. if a sandwich could be framed and hung in the Louvre I'd submit one of these.

Why haven’t I already reviewed you guys. Lol. The oldest sub place in town and always fresh bread. If you haven’t had mellos you’re not a true utica native. Dave is my go to guy and he always makes the best subs consistently. One a day I tell ya. Tell em I sent ya

The subs were very tasty and made really well with fresh ingredients. The bread felt and tasted as if it was baked that morning, and the meats and vegetables were prepared just right. I highly recommend eating here! Fyi this is a Cash only Establishment.
