Matsuhisa

Hands down some of the best cuisine in Aspen. Chef Samir is an incredibly talented, the dishes were delicious, so much so that they disappeared before we could take pictures. Matt and every other waitstaff was very attentive and knowledgeable. Definitely don’t miss Matsuhisa if you’re visiting Aspen.

We booked Matsushi for a birthday dinner and it was perfect from start to finish. We had a party of seven, and they accommodated us with ease. We were seated in the downstairs dining area, which was beautiful — the round table made it so easy for everyone to talk and enjoy each other’s company. Even though we arrived a little late to our reservation, the staff remained incredibly kind and welcoming. The service throughout the night was excellent: attentive, helpful, and impressively fast. It made the whole evening feel smooth and enjoyable. The food was incredible and the drinks were just as satisfying. The sushi is served family style- in one big dish. I had an amazing dining experience at Matsuhisa. The Shrimp with Spicy Garlic Sauce was a nice appetizer, the Lamb Chops had a unique barbecue sauce and were cooked to my desired temperature (well done), and all of the sushi was great. My favorite item was the Black Cod, it was sensational. Service was top tier as expected. The ambience is typical of any fine dining establishment, but the interior design was underwhelming. An elevator and coat check are available for accessibility and convenience. Overall 9.5/10!

1st time dining here, asked our server, Marisa R, to please pick her favorites for our entire meal. The result, best sushi we have ever had in our lives (and my wife and I are both sushi connoisseurs)!! The service made this place. Our waiter was smart, intuitive, caring, fun, and all these things while being on top of the details. Made me wish we had a waitress like this every evening out. The food was incredible. UNI all day, every day. Absolute must in Aspen. We loved everything about it.
