Margaritas Mexican Restaurant

We visited the restaurant on Saturday night and had a very pleasant experience overall. Our server was friendly and attentive. While my wife wasn’t a fan of her entrée, the manager came by to check on us and handled the situation with genuine kindness and professionalism. Ms. Kelly went above and beyond—she took the time to sit with us and chat, which truly meant a lot. As a couple in our late 60s, we often feel the younger generation is always in a rush, so her patience and personal touch really stood out. Thank you, Ms. Kelly. We will definitely return.

Worst birria I've ever had, never coming back. Not sure what I expected from Margs...but it was so bad. We didn't get approached by our waitress until 20 mins after being seated, didn't get our waters until another 20 mins went by, and the margarita flight just never came. The birria was supposed to come with grilled pineapple, but it was just raw. The cosumme was spilled all over the plate and looked like dirty water.

Just went here for lunch with two other people. Truly the most disgusting Mexican food any of us has ever had. The plate under the taco salad with chicken was full of water. The lettuce looked like it should have been thrown out 4 days ago. Guacamole was dark brown. Chicken tasted like it had also gone bad. The ground beef taco salad was just as bad. Had chunks of steak and pork in it, like it had been scraped off someone elses plate. Chimichingas were slimy and under so much cheese you couldn't tell what you were actually eating. Rice was cold and hard. Honestly, save your stomach, don't go here. We left the food and got out as quickly as we could. These 4 star reviews have to be for drinks only.

Emma was a fantastic waitress. She was very attentive and pleasant. My daughter and I came in at a very slow time of day, which can often impact the attentiveness and mood of servers (I know from experience). That was certainly not the case with Emma, though! And the food was very good, like always.

We had an amazing experience at Margaritas in Portsmouth!! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was lively, welcoming, and full of great energy. The food was delicious—fresh, flavorful, and authentically prepared. Every dish felt like it was made with care, and the presentation was fantastic. A special shout-out goes to Kelly, the General Manager, who truly made the visit exceptional. Her professionalism, warmth, and genuine attention to guests stood out. She made sure everything was perfect and created a friendly, comfortable environment that really elevated the dining experience. It’s clear she takes great pride in the restaurant and its guests.
