Marchellos Neighborhood Italian

I dined with my wife in February. The food was great. I had the linguine Pescatore and a small Cesar salad. The Cesar had a light dressing and the romaine was crispy. The linguini had a light garlic, basil plum tomato sauce with shrimp, scallops, tiny calamari, clams and mussels. It was just outstanding! My wife has angel hair pasta with marinara sauce and added shrimp as a protein. She described it as very good. Kennedy was our server. She was attentive without being overbearing. The prices were very reasonable and the atmosphere was inviting. There is a small bar with seating. An improvement from previous ownership. We will definitely return.

I ordered the shrimp scampi to go. It was $25 but only included 5 shrimp… No sides (see photo). I called the restaurant and politely asked the manager for a partial refund for my “meal”. Even though he said I should have received a salad and soup too, he would not issue a refund. He only offered me a credit for a large salad next time. Additionally, they don’t actually offer soup to go even though it’s an option when ordering online. I wish they would have called me to clarify the order as it’s not a short drive for us. We left a nice tip online too just for my order to be wrong and not fixed even after requested. Please keep this in mind before dining at this restaurant. We are highly disappointed and will not be back.

Marchellos is a great little place to catch a freshly made Italian meal! The wife and I stopped in for dinner after seeing an ad with some good looking pasta. I had the Linguini w/ white clam sauce, and she had a pizza. We started with the calamari, which was probably the best I’ve ever had. Perfectly cooked, seasoned, and most of all fresh. They prepare the squid, it’s not frozen, food service prepped. The linguini was perfectly cooked, sauce flavor was balanced, and there was no skimping on the clams! If an Italian restaurant can’t make the white clam linguini, it’s not a real Italian restaurant, Marchellos is the real deal! Quite simply some of the best, most tender and flakey salmon I’ve ever had! The orzo side that came with it was also fantastic! The service from Tammy was top notch! If you’re sleeping on this place, don’t! You must give them a try!

If you know me, you know I have been on a mission to find the best eggplant parmigiana, meatballs, and lasagna around the greater Charlotte area. Today, I took a drive to Denver to continue the search and finally found my top spot: Marchellos Neighborhood Italian. Marchellos is tucked inside a strip mall and opened back in August. It is not fancy, just a perfect no-frills Italian restaurant where you can bring the family or stop in for a casual meal. The decor threw me off at first. Behind the host stand is a framed photo of Adam Sandler from Happy Gilmore at the putting green. Looking around the restaurant, I realized they had various photos of movies and actors from the 80s and 90s, giving the place a fun and casual atmosphere.
