Great little library with amazing staff, activities for the kids through the year and good materials.

On May 10, 2023, I attended Baby Storytime with my grandson at Florence L. Shanklin Library in Denver, NC. This program was incredible. The person who lead the program was Erin the Librarian Assistance, who did an outstanding job with presentation. She was very well prepared for the activity by providing a sheet with all the baby rhymes for the adults to follow along with her. She brought a such great deal of enthusiasm to the delivery of both the stories and the rhymers she presented. The children were engaged in the program by clapping their hands, stomping their feet and raising their hands. I think, Erin was having was more fun than the children and the adults at the gathering. After the stories and the rhymes were completed, Erin provided the children with books and toys play

Best story time ever on Tuesday mornings at 10:30am. It's for 3-6 year olds. My mom came to visit from St. Louis where she is familiar with libraries there over several decades. She gave the Shanklin Branch story time rave reviews and said the story teller (name?) was one of the best she has ever heard. Also, I have three year old twins and they love it! :)

This is a very nice library. It’s on the small side, but still has everything you need. There’s a nice kids corner with four or so computers. It’s never really crowded. On the library’s property, there is a nice walking trail. Not a long trail, great for the little ones.
