Zhou Ma Po is an amazing spot for authentic Sichuan food! The location is super convenient — easy to find and close to everything. Their signature mapo tofu is outstanding: the tofu is soft and silky, the sauce is rich and flavorful with just the right kick of spice. You can really taste the freshness in every bite. The staff are friendly, and the atmosphere is cozy, making it a great place for a quick lunch or a casual dinner with friends. Highly recommend if you’re craving real Chinese comfort food!ping

I posted a photo of empty plates for a reason - I ate everything. Bok choy, two cucumber dishes (get the one with chili oil), General Tso’s chicken, soup dumplings, shrimp dim sum, and beef fried rice. Every dish landed. Flavor, freshness, execution - all of it. At the time of writing, this place sits at a 4.5 rating with ~177 reviews and is somehow outranked by Din Tai Fung and a handful of nearby spots. That doesn’t track. Across the board, the food here is better - fuller flavor, fresher ingredients, stronger menu depth. Full stop. This should be a 4.7+ restaurant. If you’re looking for a great soup mid-afternoon or a full dim sum meal after a Broadway show, this should be your pick. Decor is simple, the staff is attentive and accommodating, and the dining room is clean and well run.

I stopped by Mapo Asian Restaurant & Bar and was genuinely impressed. The food has that authentic Sichuan kick—especially the Mapo Tofu, which is definitely their signature dish. The numb-spicy flavor hits perfectly without being overwhelming. The restaurant is clean, bright, and very welcoming from the moment you walk in. Service was friendly and fast even though the location is busy. The menu has a great selection of classic Sichuan dishes, and everything we ordered tasted fresh and well-seasoned. Overall, a great spot if you’re craving real Sichuan cuisine near Times Square. Highly recommend trying the Mapo Tofu and a few of their side dishes!

Amazing Mapo tofu, shredded cabbage, and spicy chicken. The spice is authentic. Good portion size. Even though some servers don't speak mandarin, the service is top notch. The space is clean and modern. Tasted better than Mountain House next block to be honest. Will be back!

Wonderful food and wonderful service! I had the mapo tofu lunch special and it came with a plethora of other side dishes as well as the delicious main tofu! (Cucumbers, spring roll, pickles, even little dessert sticks that I saved for after). The servers were WONDERFUL! They were extremely kind and helpful to my needs 🙂 I appreciated that so much! Will definitely be back here!
