MANJAL SOUTH INDIAN RESTAURANT

We recently had the pleasure of dining at Manjal in Fair lawn, and it was an experience that exceeded all expectations. Every dish we ordered was delicious. Misoor masala dosa was my favorite. They offer a great verity of options, catering to all tastes and dietary preferences. Thanks.

We already knew it'd be good the second we stepped in and noticed: (1) nearly all of the tables were full, and (2) every other diner (besides us) was Indian. We went with our go-to Indian favorites - chicken tikka masala and chana masala. The pieces of chicken in the tikka masala were a little dry, but oh, that sauce. It was creamy and flavor-packed, so much that I let my spoon scrape unapologetically against the bottom in my attempts to get every last drop. The chana masala was decent, with a respectable spice heat. The best part of our order, surprisingly, was the malabar paratha. Run don’t walk to Manjal! The owner “Samy” and his team are wonderful - hard working, genuine and friendly. Samy is the heart of Manjal - he is a talented chef and opened this establishment ten years ago. He has adhered to his mission of delighting customers with high quality Indian cuisine and top notch service - and his team is fully aligned. The food is consistently delicious and fresh, and the dine in customer experience is a positive one. You can’t go wrong, as the menu has many tasty options - but my favorites are the chicken biriyani (rice dish) which bursts with flavors woven into the marinated tender chicken and rice. This is truly some of the best Indian food my family and I have had and we’re big foodies who love trying new spots. We found this place for the first time after a quick Google search and decided to take a chance, and I’m honestly SO glad we did because it completely exceeded our expectations. It was a snowy day and I asked the owner if delivery was possible, and not only did they say yes, they were so kind and helpful about it. That alone was amazing, but the food is what really blew us away. We ordered a wide variety so we could try as much as possible: chicken tikka masala, saag with chickpeas, vegetable korma, malai kofta, thippili rasam, goat curry, and kulcha, oh and the mint chutney was perfect and spicy. FIRST GOOD GLUTEN FREE/DAIRY FREE TIKKA MASALA my daughter has had in a while! We spoke to the owner, and he was able to make it special for her! The menu is well labeled for anyone with allergies! The food was delicious - both regular and the special one. The chicken was very good quality, flavorful chutnesy with the very crispy, fun to eat onion pakora. Even the rice was flavorful. We got delivery and it was still hot. Can't wait to put this fabulous FAIR LAWN local restaurant in my rotation.
