Mancino's Pizza & Grinders

Huge downgrade from the past! Mancino's grinders used to be the best. Thinly sliced meat, piled high on the perfect bread, firm but chewy in all the right ways, with perfectly melted cheese, topped with bacon, lettuce, tomatoes, and the perfect amount of mayo. Now, the meat is just one think piece of turkey and ham. It drastically changes the entire sandwich. Super disappointed in this new version of the Mancino's Club which once an amazing grinder.

First off, let me start by saying I normally go to the Owosso location. I have never had an issue with that location and the food there has always been phenomenal. In Owosso they serve the grinders in a cardboards sub box to prevent them from getting soggy. I wrongly assumed the Lansing location did the same. We were driving back to Missouri and decided to give the Lansing location a shot. Never again. The turkey was not thinly shaven (per usual) and was rather thick. It threw off the taste and the texture kinda grossed me out. Worse yet, they served the $20 subs in tinfoil. We all had one piece and went back for another piece about 20 minutes later. I read the on line reviews and wanted to try this place. We ordered the Italian calzones. It was made with fresh ingredients. It didn't have sauce like I'd had at other places so that was different. But we enjoyed it without sauce. It was like a sub but better. The pastry shell was great.

I ordered the barbecue pork grinder. First I noticed how thin it was and then I picked it up and sauce ran down my fingers. Took a bite and it was all bread and cheese. Looked inside and found clumps of fat. It was so gross I about gagged. Took it up to the register and told them and showed them the fat. She looked at me with a blank stare and said the meat comes in a packet that they don’t make it there. Then she told me they could make me a new one. I told her I couldn’t stomach eating another one! She didn’t offer to give me back my money or even another sandwich. Very disappointed in this store! I eat at the same me in Dewitt and I have to say it’s much better.

I'm sure I've left reviews, but they have an amazing chef's salad, plenty of food for two people. We also love they're grinders and pizza. Never disappointed! Excellent staff!
