Snapper was definitely the star. Seasoned well, crispy but not dry. Rice and salad was okay. Waitress who took my order: Small interaction but very Impactful. She was pleasant, smiled, welcoming, offered us advice regarding menu options, and honestly if I wasn't a little pressed for time, made me wish I could have dined in. NEXT TIME.
A big improvement, compared to previous owners. Services excellent!!! The appetizer was everything!!! The mojito very weak (no flavor) and the mofongo was a 2 (as a Puertorican i was expecting more) No saying that was bad, but nothing to do with our traditional Puertorican mofongo. But definitely I will ne back because the service was excellent!!!
I’ve visited the mambo on 4 different occasions and the service was excellent each time. The atmosphere was live and upbeat. The bartenders Ray and Hannah is awesomen. Ray, Jenisa , Sava and Ana great waitress. The Snapper was definitely on point Seasoned well, crispy . Rice and Red beans was very good. Waiting on the day they have gondolas and rice.
It's 7pm on a Saturday night. Fairly quiet aside from a few at the bar. The Waitress was very nice and attentive. I got the pork chops which.. maybe it's because I'm from the south but they were dry, chewy, and disappointing. Way over-fried, pork chops only need to be cooked to 140°. I wasn't expecting pork chop jerkey for $15. I also got some form of sweet plantain nachos which are pretty good. The best thing by far has been the Bahama Mama drink. Despite the pork chops I'm enjoying myself.
The place I went to is actually called Fatboy's and I REALLY wanted to adore this place, but as a gal that really loves a chef who puts passion in their food, I can't. The atmosphere is great here. The decor is on point. The food CAN be great with just a little more love. What they do right: Their clam chowder is out of this world. While it's more of a Boston clam chowder and not a traditional new England clam chowder it was so creamy, tasty, satisfying and filling. I probably shouldn't have ordered anything else as I was well and truly stuffed after. The fried foods are well prepared and meals are served in a timely manner. The steak was cooked perfectly and served with fresh veggies. THEY HAVE GOOEY BUTTER CAKE! As a current St. Louis gal I was really happy to see this offered on the
