Maiwand Kabob

Outstanding flavor, huge portions, good value. Took about 15 minutes to have our food ready, worth the wait. Very clean with lots of local customers, always a good sign. Food was a bit heavy on the oil, not atypical for this type of cuisine. Otherwise, no other feedback. Pictured are the lamb curry and lamb kabobs.

First time having afghan food and we loved the mantu! We also got kebab platters, the lamb was very delicious and the bread was extra soft.

It's great to find well seasoned food that literally delights you with the first bite. It was super convenient to BWI and surrounding hotels. We ordered a vegetarian platter and the lamb curry platter with a deliciousmango shake. Both dishes were reasonably priced with very generous portions. We had hearty leftovers for another dinner for 2 adults. I gave 3 stars for atmosphere because it is setup like fast food seating. Afghan music is played in background and culurally relevant photos decorate the walls. We arrived shortly before 8:30 p.m. The woman who took our order firmly suggested we order take out because they closed at 9. I definitely would eat here again.

I visited the Maiwand Kabob location in Hanover, MD and had a great overall experience. I ordered the lamb on lamb rice platter, the flavor was spot on, with tender, well-seasoned lamb and fragrant rice. However, I did notice the portion size was a bit smaller compared to other Maiwand locations I’ve visited, especially considering the price. That said, the food was still delicious and the staff were friendly. I’d definitely come back, but I hope future visits come with portions more in line with their sister restaurants

Food was DELICIOUS perfectly seasoned and tasted super fresh. There was a bit of a longer wait than originally anticipated. However once I tasted the food all was quickly forgiven. I ordered the chicken kabob. Staff was very flexible on substitutions I didn’t want any bread with my order and was able to replace with curried chickpeas instead (Amazing). Will definitely be back the next time I’m in the area!
