Growing up, I had a lot of Muslim friends and over the last 20 years. I've tried pretty much every entry in the Middle Eastern category in the area. Maiwand has top tier meat, really well seasoned and marinated. Much better than some of the other places around here. But what really stands out is the green sauce. That green sauce is so good you could put it on a flip-flop. There are times when DoorDash offers significant discounts to Maiwands competitors and I still choose them just because no one else has perfected the green sauce like they have. Love the chicken, beef, kofta, and tandoori chicken
I’ll be honest I’ve never been a kabob fan, I was in a pinch and the place just looked very nice- got my food and it was even better. 10/10 will come back. This has turned into one of my favorite “hole in the wall” places to eat. It’s definitely a hidden Gem and I recommend any foodie come here and give it a try! Thank you guys for the excellent food and service!
Delicious food! Had vegetable platter & falafel platter. Excellent vegetarian & vegan options. We'll be back!
I recently had a delightful dining experience at Maiwand Kabob in Columbia, Maryland. I opted for their Grill combo, featuring succulent beef and chicken, accompanied by a delightful array of sides: fragrant rice, freshly baked Afghani bread, chickpeas, and a refreshing salad. The portion size was so generous that I couldn't finish it all and happily took some leftovers home. Watching the meat getting grilled right in front of me, thanks to the partially visible kitchen over the counter, added to the excitement and anticipation of the meal. The flavors were nothing short of fantastic! The meat was tender and bursting with savory goodness. The fresh-baked bread was a treat, and the spices infused in the rice enhanced its taste remarkably. The chickpeas brought a delightful texture and tas
First time to try the food at this place. The food was really good as it was well seasoned, but my favorite was the samosas—crunch and well seasoned; delicious!. I also ordered the rice pudding. I recommend it. About the pudding the only thing was that in the menu it says “rice pudding with pistachios and cardamon” but mine cane with almond slivers instead.
