Fantastic Bed and Breakfast! The buildings are nice Victorian style homes, split into Hotel rooms, a very nice combo of Victorian charm, with some modern amenities. My only complaint is that there is minimal reserved parking, so you may need to find a parking spot a few blocks away after unloading. The staff was very friendly and the food was excellent!

First time staying at the Mainstay Inn after staying at other B&Bs in Cape May. We stayed in the well-equipped Decatur Room and enjoyed everything about our 3-night stay. The room was on the third floor of the cottage, next to the main house. Best part of the stay was afternoon tea and incredible homemade treats that were served. Breakfast was also incredible, along with the location being only a few blocks from Washington Street. We enjoyed visiting and attending mass at the beautiful Our Lady Star of the Sea RC Church, also dinner at Tisha's one evening. Overall, a great stay in Cape May.

A beautiful Victorian “Painted Lady” and its adjoining cottage in the heart of Cape May was the site of a writer’s retreat. The rooms are filled with antique furniture, modern TV and luxurious beds, and several with updated luxury baths and rain showers. The breakfasts are simply scrumptious as are the daily 3 pm teas with delicate china cups and saucers and many gluten free options that I truly appreciated. A big parlor offered games and puzzles, while the porch is a perfect place to sit and enjoy the ocean breeze. Loved everything about it.

My wife and I visited this past Wednesday to Friday. It was our second time at the Mainstay. We had a great time. Cape May never disappoints. Although over one hundred and fifty years old the Inn is in top notch condition, The staff is very friendly and efficient, The furnishings are an antique lover's dream. The breakfasts and afternoon tea are highlights. The main building has its own on-site parking and a short walk to the shopping area or the beach. It is a wonderful place to experience Cape May.

The Mainstay Bed & Breakfast is our home-away-from-home! We have been coming here each year since 1992 and will continue to do so in the future! Pete & Ester, innkeepers, work hard to keep the iconic inn in top, elegant shape, and continue to offer scrumptious breakfasts and afternoon teas to comfortable, clean rooms that boast authentic antiques mixed with modern conveniences such as Internet and wall TVs. Guests are greeted daily by Victoria, Diane, Paula, and Tracy who provide every amenity possible!
