Main Street Cafe – St. Johns, MI Classic small-town diner done right. Came in on a Tuesday evening (12/2/25) for dinner with a group of four and ended up with a very solid meal and that cozy “everybody knows everybody” vibe you only get in a place like this. Food highlights: The Jumbo Butterfly Shrimp basket is legitimately good. Big, plump shrimp, perfectly fried, not greasy. Comes with a mountain of fries, a little cup of corn (weird side, but fine), cocktail sauce, and a roll. At $15.06 it’s one of the better shrimp deals in Clinton County. The toasted BLT was exactly what you want: thick-cut bacon, fresh lettuce/tomato, mayo, nicely grilled bread, and a pickle spear on the side. Add-on fries were hot and crispy. Meat & Cheese Omelette was huge, fluffy, and Toast came nicely buttered

We love diners and supporting local We don't usually eat out because of nurtion and food allergies I take my teens every now & then Good size dinning room Coffee was good, no df creamer tho Menu has a ton of good variety & options Food was good, wing dings were lil over done, homemade ranch delicious My daughter liked her tenders Server was ok. Wasn't overly friendly ,zero smile or talk much at all. Didn't see her much in comparison of another server. No Suggestive sell or anything Pretty basic service I was in the restaurant industry for years so it might be a lil from that too Some places only chat with their locals and judge on appearances I don't think small diners realize they do this but they do. I get it having regulars but you can get new on

This is a wonderfully homey diner, with understated decor and beautiful natural lighting that creates a warming atmosphere. It's always a pleasure to eat here, as even when it's maximally busy, the servers are always friendly and on top of things. The menu is pretty limited in the pancakes/hotcakes and waffles selection, but the eggs, hash, and toast are very good and they have some satisfying hodgepodge breakfast dishes. The lunch menu is better; everything I've tried on it has been worthwhile and filling. This is simply a nice place to sit, eat, and enjoy company.

Main Street Cafe is great small town feel diner atmosphere. They have great food and delicious desserts. I'm pretty hooked on their strawberry rhubarb pie. If you make it to St John's, Mi you have to try that pie...or any other pie! Their cook Shay is a great cook, and their waitresses are absolutely sweet! TíaMaría

We love this restaurant. Great food and our waitress Kathy always does an amazing job. They recently changed their fries though and I liked the old ones better. The new ones aren't horrible. I just prefer the ones they have had for years.
