Interior design was beautiful, warm and intimate. Staff was friendly, efficient and helpful. I had a yuzu martini and the calamansi butterfish w/brussel sprouts The martini was great. I wish the butterfish tasted more/had any hint of calamansi in the dish, as I was looking forward to it. My friend told me her fried chicken was yummy.

Dinner at Ma-dé was such a delight! I truly didn't know what to expect here, but I was so pleasantly surprised with everything I had. Upon arrival, the interior is beautifully decorated and has a whimsical feeling. The padang dinner was exceptional with so many different dishes and flavors to try! The side dishes are a bit more vegetarian forward but I thoroughly enjoyed them. For choosing the main proteins, we did the lamb ribs and butterfish. Both were exquisite and so wonderfully tender. You won't leave hungry here! I will happily recommend this place for others to try and can't wait to return myself.

This is my third time here and oh my god everything just gets better. Tried their original menu (dumplings are a MUST) but LOOOVED their new Padang-style concept. Tried their Liwetan Feast during Restaurant Week in January & LOVED that too. As an Indonesian, Ma•dé really SERVED all the dishes. Elevated, but surely a fantastic introduction to Indonesian cuisine. And don’t get me started on their desserts. Although the cookies remind me of the ones I had back home as a child, the pandan crepes (dadar gulung) and passionfruit sorbet stole the show. Will definitely be back to try their spring & brunch menu!!! Heard VERY GOOD things on their lamb ribs 🥰

I really really want to like this place, but the execution isn’t fully there. There were great elements but I thought the seafood wasn’t super fresh for the price, and some of the dishes were a bit bland. The hot menu items were actually the best part, and the presentation was beautiful. Loved the cocktails. This is still a newer restaurant so I hope they can get better!

“We heard there’s a birthday at this table”, brought out an ice cream with a candle we didn’t order, and proceeded to charge us for the ice cream. We assumed it was complimentary, as it is at every restaurant I’ve been to here in New York. It was only $4, but the principle was disappointing. Other than that, a wrong order was brought to us and taken back after we already touched it, a side dish order couldn’t be fulfilled as it was only in the pre fixed menu.. These are minor issues that if done otherwise could’ve made our experience so much better. Overall the food was 3/5, does not remind me of Indonesia, and service was 0/5, with very little Asian representation. Lobster dumplings (the most hyped dish) was below mediocre with extremely flat flavor. Fine for a regular meal as it was r
