Maciano's Pizza & Pastaria

Honestly I’ve come to Maciano’s many times and I’ve ordered from them serval times for take out. I’ve come to only order pizza from this place. Every time I try pasta I get super disappointed. The Pasta sauces are always soooo watery! I decided to try a simple angel hair and meat sauce today hoping to not be disappointed, and I couldn’t have been more sad about my decision. I don’t know who makes the sauces for the dishes but honestly I have never had anything this bad. I wish I could’ve uploaded a video to show how watery this meat sauce is. Someone please change the recipe or hire someone who can make sauce well.

My first Chicago style pizza in Chicago. It was HUGE. I got the small ($30) it was worth it. I could only eat a slice. Easily feeds 2-3 people. It was pretty good. The only thing I would say is for delivery drivers to make sure they read if its a no contact order and special instructions i.e "please leave at the door". As a single traveling woman, it's important to me and my safety if the deliverying person isnt knocking and knocking, waiting for me to open my hotel room door. It was a little awkward for me. It puts a spot light on me to either A. Tell them to leave it at the door or B. Quickly turn on the hotel shower and open the door, as though someone else is in the room. A brings more attention to me, option B seems the most normal. So I opened the door.

The pizza has plenty of cheese, and the flavor is really well balanced! My favorite was the pepperoni with bell peppers, onions, and mushrooms. It’s a great option to treat yourself while enjoying a delicious pizza in a very cozy atmosphere.

This was my 1st visit to Maciano's. Despite being in a strip mall, the establishment was well decorated and inviting. Service was pleasant and efficient. I tried the lasagna as my 1st dish as it's a favorite. Well, the plate looked great, however once I tasted the dish, I found that it was was waaay over-salted. In my culinary travels, I try to spot clues to what my dinner may reveal. For example, I have been to several pubs / eateries that do not place any salt or pepper shakers on the tables. I take note and almost always, the food reflects the fact that my meal has been seasoned by the chef, perfectly! I usually pay attention to the condiments provided at the table. So when my meal was closer to a salt lick than fine Italian dining, I noted that the tables within my area had pepper

Our senior home in Yorkville sponsored a Movie & Pizza night last Friday, January 23rd. We placed a large order of Pizza’s for the event. Maciano’s pizza was a real hit! The entire process was a positive experience. I spoke with Riley, who helped me to work out the details and took my order. She was so helpful and courteous. The delivery was on time, pizza’s hot and delicious. They even included extras we didn’t expect with the order like plates, napkins, individual packets of red pepper flakes and Parmesan cheese. Many residents had never had Maciano’s pizza before and loved it! The event was a hit and Maciano’s will be our go to pizza restaurant for our future pizza parties.
