Loui's Pizza

We had been seeing this place pop up on my feed for a while, so when my friend group and I were in Detroit we wanted authentic Detroit style pizza, so this was the obvious choice. We made sure to get there right when they opened and there were already people trickling in and the waitress mentioned the locals come so regularly it's basically a habit at this point. We ordered three different pizzas for 4 people. They have premade options but you can also build your own with toppings. Everything was delicious and exactly what we expected from Detroit pizza. I visited Loui's yesterday with my preschool-age daughter. We were in town from Indiana so I wanted to get her the most authentic old-school Detroit style pizza possible and Loui's came highly reccomended. It was our first time ever eating here. The food was awesome and my waitress was pretty great too. She was friendly to me and my daughter, made great suggestions, and gave all-around great service. I reccomend this place based off my experience and will personally go back when I'm in Detroit again.

Have been wanting to try this place for a while and glad the parking and long wait for a table did not deter us. The ambience was great — noisy but not so loud that you had to shout across the table for your party to hear you — and the waitress was friendly and attentive despite it being a busy Saturday night. She was helpful when we asked about the sizes of the dishes and we were glad she talked us into sizing down for the salad and pizza. We ordered antipasto for the famous dressing, a small Detroit style pizza (my husband and I were barely able to finish 1 1/2 squares), and my daughters ordered a small ravioli with meat sauce and a spaghetti with meat sauce each. Very busy and crowed. No chicken tenders or wings or potato wedges. Food was fine. No romaine lettuce. No ranch dressing. I ordered a medium antipasto salad which was smaller than i normally get. It had alot of cheese, not enough ham and Salami. The Pizza was good i just did not like the green peppers on it were raw. I enjoy the things I ordered much more at the original buddys location.

This is the original Detroit style pizza and restaurant. Pizza is delicious with crispy cheese crust and balanced sauce. Crust is fluffy. Get the bottle of canti that you can decorate yourself. Fun Greek salad was great. Fresh crispy and packed with black olives beats and feta Throw in some cheese bread sticks.....you have to order these. and you have a perfect evening of fun and great food.
