I love Hazel Perk! Very cozy, friendly and close to my house! The coffee is amazing and if you haven't had the bubble tea, I suggest you try it!!!!!
I have stopped here twice. this was my second try. I ordered a latte which I am pretty sure was made with drip coffee ...I had asked "is it made with espresso" they replied yes. when I noticed the container of grounds on the counter.... it was from Meijer.... I gave this place a second try thinking maybe it's like those old coffee shops with like poetry readings. the vibe felt off, the owner was there at the time, I noticed he did not smile at all. I probably should have returned it, bc it was undrinkable I had to chuck it in the garbage. yall could do better running a coffee shop is more than going to Meijer. if you wonder why your customers go up the street the coffee is better and cheaper.
Absolutely loved this cafe. Drinks were perfect. Service was great. So much to look at. Wonderful how they have local artisans and their items to buy. Tables for games or couches to get comfy. Will definitely be back!
I'm so glad I stopped by this cafe today. Hazel Perk Cafe is located at the end of a strip mall in Hazel Park. The atmosphere is cozy, yet eclectic. The dining room has a section of comfy upholstered furniture and an area with sturdy tables and chairs. There is a stack of board games and a coffee table full of books and magazines in case you want to kick back and spend some time here chilling. The place gives off homey, relaxing vibes. The walls are lined with artwork by local artists and the shelves, cabinets and hooks around the room are loaded with interesting merchandise created or sold by locals. Today's host, Roger, was very welcoming. He guided me through the menu and offered several suggestions. I ordered the Caesar salad and their Rueben sandwich. Both were served on retro Corel
Nice place. The service was average but not a problem. Their Coffee is good. They serve Detroit Bold Coffee Co. beans. The environment is quiet and I like that they are trying to promote local artists with some displays of their work, but I didn’t appreciate the political statements, not to mention some of the art was from The Occult.
