Tucked away in Pleasant Hill, MO is a local secret that I'm outing today... Long BBQ! My wife and I stopped in on our way to Branson and we're delighted by the BBQ! The Ribs were fall of the bone and melt in your mouth... Brisket was tender and full of flavor, the Turkey was juicy and pull apart and the Jalapeno Sausage packed a punch!!! The burnt end were not your usual burnt ends, they were part of the flat, not fatty like you get with the point. Smoked Wings were crispy, and full of flavor! What truly surprised us were their house made BBQ sauces, which came in three variations... A sweet and zesty, a sweet and spicy, and one of the most delicious takes on the Alabama white sauce I think I've ever had!! Last but not least was their famous "Hot Mess Fries"!!! Quick and fast service. Gave diner vibes - the food was great, zesty and tasty. Because everything was in to-go boxes it made the dining experience feel rushed... however made the clean-up after easy. That's ok, I get it. The only criticism of the food I had was on the Pulled Pork Nachos - the ratio was off, it was more 'coleslaw' then 'pulled pork' - But they were cheap and yummy all the same. No biggie. Sad they were out of the ribs and burned ends, all the more reason to come back again ;)

I tired this BBQ spot for lunch today for the first time and it was pretty good! I enjoyed the hot mess fries and the sausage (they were out of the jalapeño cheddar sausage unfortunately). I thought the turkey was pretty good, but I like a thicker sliced turkey so you can taste some of the seasoning. The brisket was pretty good, but could be a bit more tender. Overall I thought it was pretty good and will definitely return for the jalapeño cheddar sausage next week! I would have to say the Sauce is very good and they should bottle it for sale! This spot should be on your to try list if you live in P-Hill!

Long BBQ is a great place for lunch or dinner. The ribs and brisket are absolutely delicious. I got the Lil Q; which was about 4 ounces of meat and a small fry. It was the perfect portion for lunch and the price was great at $5! My husband got the rib combo and had plenty of food leftover to take home. We also split the Hot Mess Fries as an appetizer and I’m so glad we did - fantastic! The servers were very friendly and helpful. While the food was wonderful, there were a few negatives. They are only open Thursday - Sunday A few more days a week would be great! The lack of sustainable practices was the biggest negative. Instead of reusable plates and silverware, all food is served in boxes and then styrofoam plates and plastic ware is provided. The plastic ware is in plastic wrapped packa
