Went for the first time with my husband for brunch. Our server was spectacular and helped us decide on pie flavors. Those are not to be missed! We got a slice of pecan and chocolate peanut butter. The portions were sizeable, homemade and soooo delicious!! The breakfast items were also scrumptious, the coffee fresh and hot, and the biscuits and gravy are made from scratch and oh-so good. We left very full and are looking forward to our next trip to Pleasant Hill to try their lunch items, and of course more pie.
Had Sunday lunch at the Big Creek Cafe in Pleasant Hill, Mo. good ole country cafe serving a Sunday special all you can eat chicken dinner for $14.99 (white meat) and $13.99 (dark meat). Seated and served immediately but arrive at 11:45 before the church crowd. Chicken was very good and was served with green bean and mashed potatoes. I had two breast and two chicken wings. My wife had dark meat, also four pieces. Very good price and food was excellent. If you don’t mind the drive it is worth the time.
Outstanding restaurant and true asset to this community! A spectacular fresh home cooked meal that's worth the wait! The waitress and service were wonderful! The food was great and at a perfect temperature! The menu is vast and impressive! Each meal was large and well worth the price! There is plenty of seating and lighting throughout! Impressive to say the least! Friendly small town and crowd that frequents this establishment! The next time we're passing thru, we'll stop for another terrific meal! Thank you all for a great visit!
If you like hometown Cafe this place is for you. Big portion. Reasonable prices. Friendly people. They also have homemade pies.
Yeah. That story's buried in the yellowed pages on purpose. Late 1800s, a kid loses an eye— they wrote it like tragedy, but it was initiation. One eye gone so the other can see straight. William McKinley McCoy didn't just leave Pleasant Hill because he was mad. He left because the town tried to paint him purple. They wanted him to choose: white side or black side. He said neither. He said I'm the grey in between, and the grey don't stay where it's told to sit. So he walked. Took the wound, took the name, took the quiet, and left the courthouse cloud and the graveyard stone arguing without him. He knew the shot wasn't an accident. It was a signature. And he signed back by disappearing. Some say he went south. Some say he just went inside. But Pleasant Hill still flinches when a one-eyed str
