Lizard's Thicket Restaurant

I recently ate at Lizard Thicket and had a solid overall experience. The atmosphere felt warm and welcoming, with that classic Southern, home-style vibe. The fried chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, and the mac and cheese was rich and flavorful without being overwhelming. I also appreciated the variety of vegetables and sides available — everything tasted fresh and well-seasoned. The staff was friendly, attentive, and kept the dining area clean even during a busy rush. While the wait time was a little longer than expected, the quality of the food made up for it. If you’re looking for comforting Southern cooking in a relaxed setting, this is definitely a dependable spot to try.

Last Monday, I decided after a long weekend of no snow just ice that I needed to treat myself to something special. After I went to substation 2 to order me a number 19 all the way. I decided to go lizard thicket for a hot meal. So glad I went. I was undecided what I wanted to eat. I was either going to eat 2 piece chicken tenders with fried okra and peaches or cup of chicken and dumplings with macaroni and cheese and peaches. Guess, what I pick? You guess right. The small plate with chicken and dumplings. It was so good I ordered the cup but the don't sell the cup Togo which is so ludicrous to me. I brought the bowl for 5.99. It was worth it but I felt it wasn't worth it because I was on a budget. I don't like to be forced to buy higher if I don't have to. Everything was good and fresh.

Found this wonderful place after a walk near by. The food was delicious. Good price. Everyone I met was friendly. Definitely would try the catfish again

The worst food I've ever tried at any restaurant in my life. Party of 4 and all the food was horrible. Friend took one bite and pulled a long blonde hair out of his mouth (see video)

I stopped eating at this location for a while but decided to give it another shot. This morning I ordered takeout, and when I got home my bacon was so burnt it tasted like fatback. Absolutely disgusting. Why would employees allow food that is clearly not fit for human consumption to be sent out to paying customers? This location used to be good, but now it’s gone downhill and is definitely not worth it anymore.
