Little City Luncheonette

I'm so happy to see the original Albany Ale & Oyster back open and reborn into a cute little luncheonette! The space has been brightened up, the bar area shifted and largened, and the kitchen has doubled in size. Consistent with the team at Albany Ale & Oyster, the food here is great. Their breakfast/brunch/lunch (they're only open 7-3) menu has some unique takes on it, from the latke benedict to vegan banana pancakes, and from matzo ball soup and chicken pot pie, to a sweet or savory Dutch baby. My partner and I shared their veggie breakfast hash topped with 2 fried eggs, which, with the addition of chili oil, was one of the most flavor veggies hashes I've had. Little City Luncheonette was amazing! The atmosphere is bright, cozy but with no frills. Service was impeccable; wait staff knew enough about the food to answer any questions. They gave recommendations and kept our coffees filled! The coffee was also very good! Our server actually encouraged the chicken pot pie because they make just 12 per day and he said it was an underrated item. He was right!! Another gem was the red eye muffin. We got two grilled with butter and they were quickly eaten! It is a banana muffin with an espresso glaze and strudel of sorts! The sweet Dutch baby was a make hit also. Next time we will just get a baby for the table to be honest! The blueberry compote was perfect, not overly sweet and not gummy or syrupy. Home fries were soft in the inside and super crispy on

10/10 the BEST addition to the Albany brunch scene. Everything from the palette for taste and palette for design is thought out to please the guest. The energy in the space is vibrating with comfort, creativity, vintage yet modern, warm lighting and it’s meticulously clean. Flavors of the dishes are bursting with extraordinary delight. Staff is the highest passion + professionalism we are desperate for as restauranteurs. Worth every second of a wait + date. Congrats to the dynamic team raising the bar on hospitality in Albany!

Absolutely a 10/10 for Albany!! They hit it out of the park here. The menu is fantastic and the food tastes even better than it sounds. Ambiance and service are on point. Fresh squeezed juices and homemade baked goods are just the cherry on top. Can't wait to spend every Saturday morning here.

Best breakfast in Albany. Get. The. Pancakes. Had an excellent crisp on the outside, buttermilk fluff on the inside. So good. Every dish we had was very good. The bacon jam on the Little City Royale was a nice jazzy add to the breakfast sandwich. Eggs were fluffy. This place will definitely be a brunch staple.
