Lighthouse Restaurant

We were starving when we stopped by here for a late lunch. It was delicious We enjoyed everything from the seafood chowder to the grilled salmon and salmon tacos. We also ordered some garlic bread. We are in Haines for 3 nights and we will more likely return for another meal. Great spot by the water.

After nine years of exploring different destinations as full-time travelers, we encountered the worst service and food at this place, which was simply unacceptable for a dish as straightforward as fish and chips. Worst part is we were not even given cutlery’s to eat our fish and chips. 35 mins later we were still waiting on it while picking on our food with our fingers. Dine time was around 5:30pm.

We went out to eat dinner one night at this place and were expecting good fish and food. Right as we entered the restaurant we waited for a waiter to come and give us a table for at least 5 minutes. We had to get our own menus! We finally sat down and noticed how slow everything was. We got water 10 minutes after sitting down and ordered food. We constantly were waiting and wondering where our food was. After 1 hour of dreadful the food finally came. At that point we were not even hungry anymore. To add on to everything the fish that we ordered was cold. We paid so much money and waited so long for cold fish! Unbelievable! Save your self a lot time, happiness and money by avoiding this place

Had best halibut fish and chips ever. Staff was friendly and we had a view of the harbor. Nice break from cruise ship food. Haines is a cute town worth a visit.

Christie took very good care of us and was a one woman server, cashier and bar tender. We just made it before she started telling folks there would be a long wait to be seated. David she was at capacity. Maybe half the tables were occupied but she knows her limits and didn’t over extend herself so we got good attention. We got our food very fast and only slight delay taking our order. She thanked us for our patience which is always nice to be acknowledged. Christie hustled and is very experienced. She kept her sense of humor, was efficient but not stressed and friendly with everyone. The bar was closed for some reason and she was also the bartender. Had the halibut and chips and they were fresh but pretty average, thin standard batter with not much flavor so the fish was the star which
