Legacy Caribbean Bar & Grill

Me and a friend stopped by this location for lunch this afternoon. My friend had the fish and shrimp, which also came with fries. The fish was delicious, seasoned well and crispy. I had the chose two combo. I had the Curry Chicken and Curry Shrimp, which came with two sides, which I chose the Collard Greens, and Cabbage. Everything was delicious, but the greens were my favorite! The greens were cooked to perfection, and seasoned perfectly! I usually like hot sauce on my greens, but no need to today! The service at the bar and atmosphere was great.

Tried oxtail for the very first time tonight at a Caribbean restaurant and I’m officially converted. I don’t know how I went this long without it. The meat was unbelievably tender, rich, and full of flavor. It practically melted off the bone. The gravy was deep, savory, and perfect over the rice. Every bite tasted like it had been slow-cooked with real care. The whole meal felt comforting and bold at the same time, with spices that were warm and balanced without being overpowering. You could tell everything was made fresh and with love. The staff was welcoming and happy to explain the dishes, which made trying something new even better. If you’ve never had oxtail before, this is the place to try it. I walked in curious and left planning my next visit. Absolutely delicious.

Sooo the food was good.. it typically is. However I didn’t like my bartender. I think because I’m young and pretty she thought I was stupid. So y’all know they do that “automatic gratuity” now and when I paid cash for my bill she gave me my change but not the ticket. I left a tip forgetting about the automatic stuff because it’s been a while since I been to legacy. Very sneaky very grimy very weird and unprofessional. I’m pretty but I’m not dumb. Then to add insult to injury, both of my “lemon drops” tasted like lemonade flavored kool aid. It’s cool. I’ll just stick to to-go. My presence and money is far too valuable to deal with dishonesty and foolishness 💯🥱

I picked up my food and noticed the plate was leaking but didn’t pay it any mind. Turns out there was a giant hole in the bottom of the Styrofoam Plate. This is the second or third time this has happened with takeout from this restaurant This food is too expensive for y’all to just be throwing it in the bag and handing it to customers any kind of way. I stopped coming here because the service had gotten so slack there was no point in me returning and I see that I made a wrong choice in getting food from here cause now I can only eat the very little bit. That’s left after paying $25 for an oxtail plate.

Stop here while we were in Columbia because we wanted to try it out since it was so recommended. It's spacious on the inside and wasn't really busy so we seated ourselves. Our waitress gave us a menu and all but got missing. lol. We waited and she got our order but didn't really work to check on us. I had to go find her and tell her we were ready to cash out. Anyway, the food was decent. Nothing to brag about. If you try them out then I truly hope you enjoy it. Take care.
