Visiting Lao Chengdu for the second time this year! This time I came specifically to try their new dishes. I ordered the dry-fried shredded squid and the crispy garlic fish. The squid was definitely my new favorite. The squid legs are a good size, lightly fried, super crunchy, and really addictive. The fish dish was pretty good too, but I personally prefer the crunchiness of the squid. I also ordered the leek and pork stir-fry and shredded pork in garlic sauce. Both are classic Sichuan dishes, and Lao Chengdu does an excellent job keeping them authentic and flavorful. Overall, another great meal here! Oh also both the staffs are very kind and friendly.
After a new renovation the food is Spicy and crisp taste as ever . We really enjoyed the dishes that we had from the vegetarian selection to the noodle dishes that all came with a kick and smooth taste. The String beans w garlic a stand out with the beef noodle soup and Ma po Tofu. They also have a great lunch special menu for $10 a dish including rice.
One of the classic spots in Flushing! The food is delicious, and the prices are very reasonable. The restaurant is clean and well-kept, with a cozy atmosphere that feels welcoming. Definitely worth coming back — great place for authentic flavors at a fair price!
Authentic Sichuan flavors in Flushing! 🌶️ We tried the garlic fish maw with bamboo shoots and black fungus — flavorful with just the right amount of spice and sauce. The dry-fried squid, chicken cartilage, and tofu were also super tasty, full of wok aroma. Portions are generous and perfect for sharing. Definitely a great spot if you’re craving real Chengdu-style spicy food!
This place was very enjoyable. It has a warm homey feeling and the dishes were good. We got the bean sprouts, dry tofu pot, spicy beef and fried rice.
