Terrible service for even worse overpriced coffee. Edit: I appreciate the response from the owner, and I acknowledge that ambiguous reviews don't do justice. The coffee grounds for the coffee I got was perhaps medium to dark roast - that means, that a lot more acid had already been released from the beans. Based on the flavour profile, it seemed as if the coffee beans were ground really fine (something you would typically use in a mocha pot). But given these two factors, the need to control coffee extraction needs to be controlled based on water temperature (<97.5 deg C). But the water temperature was much higher, leading to a much bitter-ish sour aftertaste. Walked in and immediately questioned whether I was here for caffeine or to buy a Victorian lamp. The vibe? Immaculate. The menu? Minimalist masterpiece — like if IKEA designed espresso options. I ordered an iced coffee and watched the barista (a chill cowboy who may or may not moonlight as a philosopher) pour it from a giant glass jug that looked like it belonged in a medieval apothecary. Need ice? That’s a quest. It’s in the back, and the barista has to earn his steps. On your way out, you’ll find the straws casually lounging on a vintage sewing machine, because why not. Lamplighter Trading Company is pure Mystic in the best way. Warm, cozy, packed with antiques and a record collection spinning while you sit and enjoy your coffee or sandwich. The counters are made from old oak from Mystic Seaport, so the place feels historic, artsy, and comfortable. Best local coffee in town, hand crafted teas with real character, and sandwiches that are fresh, local, and honestly the best around. The owner also makes genuine leather goods right in the shop. 5/5, absolute must visit.

I don’t write many reviews, but stopped in here today enjoyed the aesthetic a lot, and appreciated the vibe of the chill tatted mustache guy who made me probably the best pour over coffee i’ve ever had in my life. I had the Honduras light roast, would highly recommend trying that if you stop in while they have it.

Been attending the parking lot for a while now never knew about this place! Guess what now everyone that I know MUST find out is incredible! From the service to the AWESOMENESS OF THE COFFE!!
