Lakes Tavern

The walleye was great and meaty. Overall the food was amazing, all full of flavor. We were in the area in vacation and would go back if we ever had the chance.

We really liked the Lakes Tavern and have gone to it many times. But since the owner built the Riverside Tavern they have jacked up the prices for their food a lot and their drink prices as well. Last year my wife and had a very nice steak and shrimp dinners that now the prices has gone from around $28 to $34 for shrimp and the steaks are now at $51 and $56. We may stop by for a burger but we can still get affordable dinners else where. You don't make a high end restaurant, just by increasing the prices!

Great experience! Our server was so sweet and constantly checked on us. Food came out pretty quickly. My fiancé got the blackened grouper and it was phenomenal. I got the seafood linguini and it was very rich and creamy. We typically have leftovers but we couldn't get enough and finished it relatively quickly. Definitely recommend!!

So... People have been telling me to go to the Lakes Tavern for a while now. Finally stopped in for a late lunch. I can report that their food is EXCELLENT. Probably the best grouper sandwich I've ever had in minnesota. The cajun spices were strong but not overpowering. The fish was perfectly cooked. The roll it was served on was soft and chewy. If toasted it would be even better. Their walleye sandwich was very good also. And i appreciate the fries or onion rings included in the base price. Both sandwiches were accompanied by a very good Ranch Water - which for some reason unknown to me - are hard to find up north here. Staff was very attentive and friendly. 10/10 will be back again soon

Every time I’ve gone it’s been very pleasant. It’s a little pricey but the food is always great. Honestly it’s a great place to go have a date.
