Lake Shore Branch Library

One of the first things that I liked about this library is how the architecture matches the location, being so close to Lake Erie (it's literally just on the other side of the road). It really evokes the feeling of water and sails or rolling swells. The other thing that's great about it is how it transfers into the interior, giving lots of natural light from the windows, and the curves in the ceiling make the space seem even bigger. Inside, there's so much space, and large sections of windows giving a bright, airy feel. There are some nice reading areas, including several beanbag chairs. They have resources for aging and family members who are caregivers as well as things geared towards kids, like the 'Movie and Book in a Bag' which helps to interest kids in reading. Amazing library. Wish it had more funding and maybe a larger range of updated books, but the librarians put a lot of care into their work. Lots of events and activities for passive library goers!

The staff is so unprofessional and loud right now. It’s a week day and there aren’t any children. You’d think it would be quieter but they’re acting like it’s happy hour. So frustrating.

Great local library with helpful staff. I love this branch, it is not too big, easy to access everything and in a convenient location. Erie county libraries are great because you can access materials from any library within the county. Set up your account online and have whatever you need sent to the library of your choice. Lots of public groups and events are set up through the libraries and kid centric events and crafts always available as well.

This library was nice and quiet and clean, making it a great place to relax and read a book. Also to my surprise was no clutter of books, as all books appeared to be put away and organized. Like wise, Stephanie, the main Librarian, quickly assisted me with obtaining a Library card, which made it a breeze with taking out books and media. Great to see a library that has reasonable hours, including one day on the weekend. Looking forward to coming back to this location soon.
