Tucked in the basement, Lagniappe feels like such a colorful hole in the wall. The Cajun food was so flavorful and the waitress was immensely helpful in offering her favorite recommendations. If you’re ever in Marquette for a few nights, I’d highly recommend adding this place to your list!
We are locals and this is our “go to” for dinner and special evenings like Valentines etc. The owners are a local family that are well loved in the community. The food here is legit cajun but also there are “yankee” choices on the menu too. One of our frequent choices is “seafood risotto”. Tonight I tried something different- the fried green tomato BLT Po Boy. I will get it again!
Awesome food drinks and atmosphere! If you come in from the front side, be sure to hit a left after you come down the stairs and see the host to be seated :) As someone who has previously lived in Louisiana and worked at a locally owned restaurant there… I was so happy with this food and overall experience! Their menu was so hard to choose from bc everything sounded amazing and you even got a little lesson in Cajun-Creole cooking! Definitely recommend :)
Good selection of food, although the most variety and choices are Po boy sandwiches. Still there are options for vegetarians. Portions are generous. More "northern" takes on dishes than authentic cajun /creole food, but still tasty and you can taste that things were made from scratch. Large menu of mixed drinks. Very limited options for wine and a bit more for beer, however, no beer is on tap. Service was good. I'd eat here again, but wouldn't be my first choice.
Garlic cheddar grit cakes, seafood bisque, and crawfish étouffée are my must-haves every single visit. Always delicious and always great service. The Sex on Bourbon Street was great as well. Make sure to stop in for the annual Fat Tuesday celebrations! Fresh raw oysters, live music, and other specials!
