Laconia Public Library

I basically live here! I love how beautiful this building is. The staff are so incredible and helpful. I have needed help finding certain authors and subjects and they have no problem showing me around and helping me out. I have also printed here and had paperwork notarized. They offer adult programs and during Christmas time I attended one where we made natural gifts such as bath soaps with lavender and dried flowers and healthy energy bites. I always look forward to visiting this library.

Beautiful space, however, public library's policy of limiting study room usage to a strict 2-hour time frame, even when the room remains unoccupied and unreserved, is a puzzling display of inefficiency. In a time when resources are crucial and tax dollars are meant to be utilized wisely, the sight of a vacant study room raises questions about the proper allocation of funds. This policy becomes even more problematic when considering instances where patrons are unceremoniously kicked out of the study room by library staff members. It's disheartening to experience such treatment, especially when the room remained unused for the last hour I was there. However, the situation took a positive turn when I decided to discuss the matter with the library director. The library director's perspective

Beautiful space with friendly staff and comfortable chairs

Steer clear if you have an ASD kiddo. Programs are not friendly towards kids either different needs or are a little more wiggly. We had a super discouraging experience with Cindy at the music and movement class and wont be back. Libraries are supposed to be the purveyors of knowledge and community and they failed in both fronts.
