Happy Cow Ice Cream Shop

To be honest, the ice cream at Happy Cow was quite average. I tried the maple flavor, and it was just okay—nothing remarkable. The texture was decent, but the flavor lacked the depth and richness I was hoping for. The overall experience didn’t stand out, and given the name and expectations, I was hoping for a creamier and more flavorful treat. It’s not bad, but there are definitely better options out there if you’re looking for exceptional ice cream.

About an 11 minute drive from Gunstock Mountain Resort. Fantastic ice cream! Over a four evening span, I went three evenings. I knew it was going to be great, when I saw the line to order. They write your order down on a small white board, then in less than 60 seconds your order appears. The flavors of ice cream are plentiful. The chocolate chip was excellent but the Almond Joy was fantastic! They also have soft-serv and sundaes. Prices are very reasonable.

4 pints, get 1 free day at the end of the season! This place has some of the best ice cream around! I got 5 pints for $20 and couldnt be happier. It was also "name your price" day on all ice cream sales, which is a pretty awesome thing!

We went to this ice cream shop one night for dessert, which was great considering many other Ice cream places were closed for the season or for whatever reason. The staff here was nice, and we both thought our ice creams were very good. There is a display showing the various cones which included a pinecone that they were out of... They got jokes here - lol There are lots of oddly named ice cream flavors on the menu, but not to worry, the staff is knowledgeable and knows the products well. I got the Monkey Around ice cream in a waffle cone. What's in it? Good stuff... This place is recommended and there are lots of good dinner options in this area.

I’ve cream is good, affordable and comes in many flavors. They moved through the line quickly. Main reason for a negative review is that they don’t offer a wide enough variety of portion sizes for people who want a small treat. The “kiddie” size is quite massive, with three scoops in a container that seemed to be 2 cups (for contrast, a standard ice cream serving from a box at the grocery store is 2/3 a cup). We won’t be choosing to eat here again because they don’t have a smaller option.
