2/25/25—-they take credit cards now 💳💳💳 I decided to try a Dominican breakfast, but I wanted a place with a good ambiance where I could sit and enjoy the Tres Golpes breakfast with mangú. I had been craving this meal because when I visited Puerto Plata and went to Cayo Levantado in the Dominican Republic, I arrived too late for breakfast, and I had to return to my cruise the same day on the explora 1 . MSC so I didn’t try breakfast there only lunch ! I chose La Gran Parada after reading that they now accept credit and debit cards, as well as the usual cash—something they didn’t do for years. Because of this, I’ve only visited once every ten years. When I walked in, Las Chicas del Can was playing in the radio . Unlike Colombian restaurants, where the staff greets you with a smile, here, t

Fantastic. I loved it! We would definitely come back. The food was great. It’s like Chipotle style ordering where you come down the line with them and choose what you’d like. The stew beef was amazing. It was pretty busy but the line moves quickly. Fun atmosphere. Lively music. Great portion sizes. Plenty of staff working. We were served fast. Most of the staff have minimal English but they were able to talk about the food easily in English. Plenty of seating. Large parking lot in the back, accessible by bus and there are bike lanes all around as well. We split a plate for two and had leftovers for around $22. You can pay on card but they don’t accept tips that way so you need to remember to bring a little cash if you like them!

This place was once a very friendly and inviting family type of atmosphere! They’ve become careless with the appearance of the dishes, a bit messy and sloppy and I feel like they took complete and total advantage of the price hikes. A plate of white rice, a couple chicken thighs cut in pieces and maybe a small potato fir $16-$18 yeah when does greed take over providing fair prices, good food and especially providing lower quality dishes? All bones and less flavor! Highly disappointed!!

If you're not from the area, it may seem strange to get there, and you may even doubt if you should be there 🤣. They have their own private parking space at the back of the building though. Which was great since the area was ...too busy. But all joking aside, once inside the place, you're like in a different place all together. My pictures can explain. Beautiful decor. Very typical decor and service if you've ever been in Dominican Republic. The place is buffet style, but the ladies there serve you what you like to get, and then you can choose to take your food home, or stay in, and get a table. Then they bring your food to your table, and you can ask for any of the Island's typical juice drinks. Like Chinola, Tamarindo, etc. The bathroom is for just one person at a time, and it was very c

We were in Providence for the day and had heard good things about this place. It was busy when we arrived. Mostly with take out. You make a line to order. Then, they brought our food over. The server was very nice and attentive. The food was very good. The only thing was the bathroom. They need a place to hold the toilet paper. They have it on the sink.
