First off, one of the only places in Ojai that had INDOOR seating with AC. Every restaurant we went to all had patio seating. It was 107 degrees. Who on God's green earth wants to melt outdoors while eating!?!? I ordered 2 tacos plus some sort of open face burrito. The tacos were very good with lots of meat...gear those for sure. The beef and chicken were both tasty. The open faced burrito, I forget the name of the dish. I didn't like it at all. The decor is pretty awful and dated. Could use an update. Take most of the tchotchkes off the walls, fresh pain on the walls, update the tables and chairs, and this could be a much nicer Mexican restaurant. You have something most places don't have indoor real estate for people to eat inside to get away from the heat. Also very easy to make a si
Burrito was so good we had to go back immediately and order seconds. Al pastor and asada both absolutely knocked the socks off. Service was also incredibly fast, perfect for a quick lunch stop and the staff were very friendly and polite.
La Fuente is authentic Mexican food and is muy bien y delicioso! The staff is great and the prices can’t be beat! I had 3 street tacos for lunch and it was soooo much food and so reasonably priced! $2.50 per taco and each one comes with a generous amount of meat. They are one of the few restaurants in Ojai that is open until 10 on Friday & Saturday! Next time, I want to try the Huraches- My mouth was watering as the waitress delivered it to another table.
Deceptive pricing scandal....meaning that the pricing of the online menu leads you in, but then in person they're all covered up with new prices. The actual total when rung up was then almost TWICE as high as even the deceptive price displayed!. The Food is okay ...I ordered the two tamale combo plate. It came with plenty of food. The rice and beans were fine, but I was a little disappointed by the jumbo sized tamales that lacked any flavor and had meager substance inside. However, the Salsa Rojo was a winner!
The salsa bar was almost empty at 8:30 in the morning, and no chips, had to ask for them and they were stale. I had a chili relleno a la carte, it was the flattest relleno I'd ever eaten and the sauce was bland with only one skinny slice of onion in it. My husband had a carnitas burrito, mostly rice and beans, little meat and no flavor. Very disappointing.
