La Fogata Mexican Grill & Bar

There's truly nothing special about this place except the building.. It use to be the old Pizza Inn and everybody knows that. Other than that, bland every day mexican food and the cocktails are very basic so again, there is nothing that stands out about this place for me to give it any more stars.. I love pastor tacos and I didn't think any one could mess that up until I bit into BURNT pastor tacos that had the cosistency of rubber and just ruined my appetite, on top of that it was on a soggy tortilla that reminded me of wet socks.. Even after that I gave this place one more shot on a to go order and it's just a NO for me.. The taste just isn't there.

Small town family buisness… Food is off the charts excellent!!!! Service is excellent, nice comfortable cozy little restaurant to sit down especially in the evening for a family to enjoy good Mexican food. I was only checking their hours out today to see if they were open being a holiday and it don’t look like it but there’s always tomorrow. Their burritos and fajitas are unreal like they’re to die for. Almost just melts in your mouth😋. There are many places good to go, La Fogata in Collins tops them all. Hot and fresh plates served, nothing sitting around like other places…

My wife and I went for the first time on a Sunday just after Church. I ordered the house enchiladas (ground beef) and my wife had the Chile relleno and we shared a mango jarrito (mexican soda). It was Busy, which is a good sign for a restaurant. We were seated promptly and immediately served chips and salsa, the chips were fresh and just the right thickness and the salsa was spiced just right with a bit of bite. Our food was served nice and hot, but the plates weren't scorching hot (most mexican restaurants microwave your food right before serving). At first I was skeptical of a white sauce over my enchiladas, but it was delicious, my plate was served with grated mexican cheese, 3 slices of fresh avocados, rice and a mexican salad. The food is outstanding. The service is always great. The restaurant could use an update but it's always friendly and cozy when we dine in. Take out orders are usually accurate and placing an order is always easy. The salsa has a bit too much cilantro in it for my taste but it isn't spicy so that is always a good thing.

I'm glad my friends told me about this place! Now we go every Tuesday for our weekly taco night. 🌮 (Sometimes it's actually Thursday but don't judge us. It's always taco Tuesday at La Fogata! 🇲🇽 ) They usually aren't very busy and the staff is so nice and helpful. They get your food out in a hurry and it's nice and hot 🔥 🥵 The salsa is good. Oh, and definitely try the loco dip. You won't be disappointed 😚. I like the carné asada. You get plenty of food for the money. The tacos are great as well. (Try the al pastor tacos... it's grilled Pineapple and Pork, it's the best thing since bacon). Give them a try! Come on a Tuesday and you might see us there.
