La Chiapaneca

I am so impressed by the food here. The tacos are beyond delicious. The decor also gives the place a cool vibe. Best Mexican food In Culpepper for sure.

La Chiapaneca has been a staple in Culpeper for several years now and honestly, it's a decent place to get some good Mexican food. I usually get Burrito Al Pastor and Birria Tacos (which, if you've never tried it, you need to), and the quality of the food has been consistent even through the pandemic. The only reason why this place isn't a full 5 stars is because in recent years - the price has gone up significantly and the quality of the food has started to become inconsistent. On a few occasions, my burrito tasted "off", like on one occasion, the Al Pastor was rubbery and didn't taste as flavorful as it usually does, but it's not consistent enough where I avoid it altogether. Food is very tasty. Had good street style Mexican food after a while. Papusas were great. Will definitely be back to try other dishes.

Usually love this place I live out of town so I make it a point to come here when I am in town. But this time I was very disappointed. $60 order which isnt a small order. I had burnt fries and the elote was sad to say the least i never had it from here before but was shocked when I opened it. There was a touch of tajin, mayo or cheese and then it had hot sauce on it thats very different than what I am used to. Papusas were also not the greatest no taste. The tacos were the only decent thing I got. Even thought they went a little light on the meat for the lengua tacos. Hope they arent loosing there touch.

We drive one hour to Culpeper just to enjoy a mix of tacos. We order tacos Al Pastor, de lengua and birria. Classic and casual atmosphere. Excellent customer service, very clean and plenty or parking.
