Kristy's Whistle Stop

This was our first time visiting (back at the end of August). We came based on the wonderful reviews. Everything we ordered was delicious. The burger was huge and the ice cream portions were very large! While the food was good, the service we received that day sucked. Since this was our first time here, we had no idea where to enter. When we finally figured it out (after following other customers in) the young lady who waited on us was rude. She was inpatient with us and just really unfriendly. After eating outside, where we did have to wait for others to leave before snagging a table, we didnt know where to locate to-go containers. I went back inside and there was a huge line. What a great place with an old-time vibe. Friendly staff and their ice cream sandwiches are huge. Nice shaded patio for ice cream on a hot day. Remember to mark the stop on the Cumberland Vally Ice Cream Trail app.

Edit: came back here a year later and it's still the best. No ice cream I've had anywhere else tastes like it, and that cheesesteak sandwich was incredible! Plus, a cone, sandwich, and fried pickles for only $20! Hands down the best meal I've ever had in PA! And very possibly the best soft serve ice cream I've ever had anywhere. Service was perfect, all the food was incredibly delicious, and the total bill for a burger, fried green tomatoes, sundae, and whoopie pie was well under $30. That's an incredible value for such delicious food. This is an absolute must-visit restaurant for anyone living in or traveling through PA. It will not disappoint.

Went here for the first time tonight with my partner who has been there many times. The peanut butter sundae we had was awesome. Service was fast and friendly. Will definitely go back to try their sandwiches and platters after seeing some of them being them delivered to customers. If you are in the mood for ice cream I would stop here if you are in the area. Keep up the good work!!

This is a hidden gem on the Susquehanna River. They provide very generous portions and at very low cost. (If you are not hungry order a small). They also provide very timely service despite long lines. They had great customer service and a great atmosphere. They had awesome outdoor seating and easily accessible condiments and any supplies needed for ice cream. The only downside to this place is the parking when it gets busy. Overall, I love this place.
