Kovai Cafe - Milpitas

New place in Milpitas. Found this by accident and it didn't disappoint us. This is very authentic South Indian restaurant, to be precise TamilNadu restaurant. Place looks nice, modern and upscale. We had Gobi Pachimulaga, Plantain Bajji and Badam Paal and all items tasted good and fresh. The Bajji had a lot of oil, I felt that can be improved a little bit. I haven't tried their main course yet and I will come back and try them. Staff were very attentive and service was fast and accurate. Good luck to the owners and staff and look forward to dining again.

Food was so good. Especially roadside kalan was so delicious. Also baby corn kara podi was excellent. Vadacurry too. We ended with hot badam paal.

Outstanding South Indian food, very authentic flavors. I was desperately craving comfort food and I'm so glad we decided to eat here. It reminded me of home, the kind of food my mom makes :) We had the Kovai Special Thali, pachamilagai Idli and rasam vadai. All excellent. Highly recommend

We visit here frequently and we love it. Food, service and ambiance is always great. Would highly recommend this place for best South Indian food. We had special Valentine’s Day thali. We loved it.

The restaurant is in a nice location with plenty of parking. It opened not too long ago; previously, Dish Dash was located here before moving across the street. The seating arrangement is comfortable. I found the thali (Kovai Special Meal) to be average. My expectations were higher since I had visited the Cupertino branch recently. The best parts of the thali were the chapati and the masala vada 😀. The portion of rice was too much for me, and honestly, the quantity of sabji, dal, and sambar was not sufficient to go along with the amount of rice served. The service was good, with minimal wait time and attentive staff. I plan to visit at least one more time in the future to try other menu items.
