Kline's Dairy Bar in VA is a nostalgic blast! Childhood flavor memories came flooding back, their ice creams, Sundays, milkshakes, and more are just like they should be. Old-school vibe, big portions, and good prices. Perfect spot to grab a classic meal and relive the good ol' days. Bring your group on the road trip. Plenty of parking. Tables inside and outside. Accessible, located at ground level. Restroom on site.

Stopped by Kline’s Ice Cream in Afton during a road trip — absolutely worth the detour. I was driving through the area, taking in the mountain scenery along Blue Ridge Parkway, and spotted Kline’s tucked right off the road. Decided to make a quick stop for a treat, and I’m glad I did — it turned into one of those simple, memorable travel moments. The place has that classic small-town charm — just a walk-up window, a clean open lot, a few shaded tables, and the smell of fresh waffle cones in the air. I tried the flavor of the week and it was outstanding — creamy, not too sweet, and you can tell it’s made fresh. This isn’t your average ice cream — it’s the kind that brings back childhood summer memories, no gimmicks, just done right. Service was fast and friendly, even with a steady stream

If you like custard style ice cream or BBQ sandwiches. This is a place to go. An interesting building. Looks like an old garage. The food is simple, reasonably priced and tastes great. The folks working there are super friendly. Check it out if you are in the mood for this type of food. You can't go wrong.

We have had milkshakes from several Kline's locations. They were always really good, mixed on a blender and a domed lid with the optional whipped cream. But, this location, the milkshake was from a machine and so thick it was more like just frozen custard. Whipped cream was still an option, but no domed lids available. If all Kline's locations have switched to this type of shake we'll be looking somewhere else.

Typically this is my favorite ice cream shop to come to in town... after today I dont know when I'll be back. My strawberry banana milkshake was soo gross... tasted nothing but syrup. I was given the option of a different flavor or refund. I choice to just get a kids vanilla cup. The ice cream was different not the traditional. The consistency was completely different not good!! They told me they are using different brand of strawberry syrup and im wondering if they have changed ice cream too!! Come on Kline's!!
