I really enjoyed my meal here. The staff is not only friendly but accommodating as we squeezed in 5 people into a 3 person table. The plates are great for sharing and prepared fresh and tasty! And the giant cocktails are fun for a group.
Cozy, intimate spot in the LES. Soup dumplings are great and are worth coming to the restaurant just for that. I would not order the Sizzling Five Pepper Short Rib (the meat was extremely fatty and tough to bite/chew).
Tried this place out the other day with a few friends - it was okay overall, and tried a few things from the menu but nothing stuck out as particularly outstanding. I did enjoy the tater tots, the scallion pancakes, and shrimp toast as apps. For mains, the eggplant and kung pao chicken were decent. I would definitely go back to try other things from the menu since it was decently expansive!
We went for the rubirosa collab - scallion pancake pizza which was very fun! The rest of the food was great, too.
Great drinks, food, and service from the waitstaff, but was very rudely rushed out the restaurant by management or owner at 9:35 despite closing at 10. It was not a mere notice of closing, to which we would have definitely been considerate of, but a physical rush out. Within five minutes, chairs were up, music was off, and we were encouraged to use the restroom quickly— to the point of my accidentally leaving my purse behind. We did conclude our meal but wanted to take some bday pictures before close, especially after traveling 2 hours and making a reservation. Disappointed as a manager in the food service industry myself.
